Woman Sentenced for Sister's Murder in North London

A woman has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of her sister, Jennifer Abbott Dauward, a film director, at her residence in north London.

Nancy Pexton fatally stabbed Abbott, who was also known as Sarah Steinberg, at her flat located in Mornington Place, Camden, on 10 June last year.

The 70-year-old Pexton received a life sentence with a minimum term of 22 years to be served.

Abbott, aged 69, was discovered deceased on the floor of her living room with gaffer tape covering her mouth on 13 June after a neighbour forced entry by breaking down the door. Pexton was apprehended five days later and was found guilty of murder at the Old Bailey on Wednesday.
