Police Seek Information After Suspected Arson in Londonderry

Authorities are requesting public assistance following an arson incident reported at a residence in Londonderry.

The event occurred around 19:30 GMT on Friday at a property located on Ballymagowan Gardens.

According to police reports, a wheelie bin was pushed against the house and ignited; fortunately, no occupants were present inside during the occurrence.

Emergency response included two units from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus tackled the blaze at the ground floor entrance.

Safety measures were implemented for the affected house and neighboring properties, with fire crews concluding their operation by 22:00.

The Police Service for Northern Ireland (PSNI) stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident and have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward.

"Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances," the PSNI said.
