Two men sustained injuries, with one requiring hospital treatment, following a "racially-motivated" assault in Coleraine, County Londonderry, according to police reports.

Authorities responded to the Railway Road area at approximately 23:10 BST on Sunday evening after receiving reports of a fight involving multiple men.

During the altercation, two men were assaulted and reportedly subjected to alleged racist abuse.

One victim was punched in the face, while the other was struck on the side of the head and kicked in the stomach. One of the injured men later sought hospital treatment for his injuries.

Police Appeal for Information

A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of two counts of common assault and possession of a Class A controlled drug.

He has been released on bail pending further inquiries, police stated.

Authorities are encouraging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could aid the investigation to come forward.
