Fatal Head-On Collision on M90

Two men lost their lives following a head-on collision on the M90 motorway near Kinross.

Police reported that at approximately 22:30 on Friday, a grey Ford Kuga was observed traveling northbound on the southbound carriageway near junction seven.

Moments later, the Ford Kuga collided with a white Vauxhall Corsa that was traveling southbound.

Authorities confirmed that the 44-year-old driver of the Ford Kuga and the 20-year-old driver of the Vauxhall Corsa were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Road Closures and Investigations

The M90 motorway was closed for around 16 hours between junctions six and nine to facilitate emergency services in conducting their investigations. The motorway has since reopened.

Additionally, the northbound carriageway was closed briefly overnight.

"An investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances of the crash."

Ch Insp Lyne Williamson urged anyone who was traveling on the M90 at the time and witnessed the incident to come forward and contact the police.
