Fatal Car Crash in West Highlands

Emergency services responded to a single-vehicle car crash near Fort William in the west Highlands, where two individuals were found deceased.

The incident occurred on the A830 in Corpach at approximately 03:00 on Saturday, when reports of a vehicle fire were received. Upon arrival, responders extinguished the fire and discovered two bodies inside the car.

Victims and Investigation

Police have stated that formal identification of the deceased is pending; however, the families of a 44-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy have been notified.

Following an investigation, officers believe the crash involving a blue Vauxhall Astra happened around 01:45.

Road Closure and Appeal for Information

The A830 Fort William to Mallaig Road was closed for over 12 hours due to the accident.

Sgt Calum MacAulay said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the people who died in this crash."
"It's vital we establish exactly what happened and I'm appealing for anyone with information to come forward."

Authorities have requested that anyone with relevant information or dashcam footage contact Police Scotland to assist with the ongoing investigation.
