Three Arrested Following Bristol Shooting
Three individuals were taken into custody overnight after a shooting incident in Bristol resulted in a man in his 20s sustaining serious injuries, according to Avon and Somerset Police.
The police reported that shortly after 02:30 BST on Thursday, a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Additionally, a man and a woman, both also in their 20s, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Details of the Incident
The police initiated a manhunt after a firearm was discharged at a vehicle on Speedwell Road in Bristol at approximately 13:47 BST on Wednesday.
A crime scene remains established in St Anne's Woods, near Brislington, which has been identified as an "area of interest," the police added.
"A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains.
Officers have been working since the incident occurred to identify and locate the individual responsible, and three people are now in police custody."
Response and Public Safety Measures
In response to the incident, four local schools were placed into temporary lockdowns, and several roads were closed on Wednesday afternoon. Police officers, including some armed personnel, were deployed in the area.
Avon and Somerset Police have stated that they are not seeking any additional suspects related to the incident.
"A scene remains in place in St Anne's Woods, near Brislington, as an area of interest and members of the public can expect to see a heightened police presence in this area and in the Speedwell area of Bristol," the police statement said.
"We understand that this may have been a very concerning incident, but we have deployed a significant number of resources as part of our response, including the National Police Air Service helicopter, specially-trained firearms officers and drone units."

Authorities have urged anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward and provide information to assist with the ongoing investigation.
