Teenage Boys Sentenced for Rape in Separate Cases

Three teenage boys have been sentenced after being convicted of raping two lone girls in separate incidents.

Prosecutors reported that the assaults, which took place in Fordingbridge, Hampshire, in 2024 and 2025, were "brazenly filmed" on mobile phones. The footage captured the boys laughing and verbally encouraging one another during the attacks.

Two boys aged 15 and one aged 14 were previously found guilty of rape following a trial at Southampton Crown Court.

The 15-year-olds received three-year Youth Rehabilitation Orders that include intensive surveillance and supervision. The younger boy will be under probation supervision for one and a half years.

During sentencing, two of the boys' mothers were seen crying as Judge Nicholas Rowland addressed the defendants, stating

"none of you need to go to prison today"
.

The judge also commended the courage of the two victims for providing evidence in court.

Details of the First Assault

The first victim was 15 years old when she was raped three times in an underpass by the River Avon in Fordingbridge. The attack occurred during what she believed was a first date.

She had traveled from her home to meet one of the boys for the first time after he initiated a "relationship" with her on the social media platform Snapchat. However, two other boys appeared at the meeting.

During the trial, the court heard that the victim was "petrified," felt "cornered and trapped," and feared being thrown into the river.

The boys shared videos of the assaults on social media, which led to the victim receiving abusive messages, according to prosecutors.

Details of the Second Assault

The second victim was 14 years old when she met the boys at Fordingbridge Recreation Ground. She was threatened with a knife and subsequently raped three times in a nearby field.

Although no knife was recovered, forensic evidence showed that her leggings had been cut with a "sharp instrument."

Video footage presented in court showed the victim lying motionless on the ground with "her face buried in her hands," while another boy was heard shouting words of encouragement.
