Fire at Former Antrim Arms Hotel Declared Arson
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has confirmed that the fire at the former Antrim Arms hotel in Ballycastle is being treated as deliberate. The incident was reported to police shortly after 20:00 BST on Sunday.
At the height of the fire, 42 firefighters, two aerial appliances, and a command support unit were deployed to the scene to combat the blaze.

Police and Fire Service Response
Officers attended the location and closed several streets in the vicinity while the fire service worked to extinguish the fire. All affected streets have since been reopened to the public.
Building History and Safety Concerns
The building, which dates back to the 1700s, had cordons placed around it by the council over a year ago due to concerns about its structural integrity. An application to demolish the property was submitted but subsequently refused last year.
Community Reaction
Local Sinn Féin councillor Cara McShane expressed her concern regarding the incident on Sunday.
"I am deeply concerned by the devastating fire."
"My immediate thoughts are with local residents and businesses who will be affected by this incident."
Police Appeal for Information
The PSNI have requested that anyone with information about the fire come forward and contact them to assist with their investigation.
