Police Car Collision on Worcester's River Severn Bridge

Part of a police car was left hanging over the edge of a bridge after it struck the parapet in Worcester.

West Mercia Police reported that the patrol car was en route to a call-out when it collided with the bridge on the River Severn, causing a subsequent two-car crash.

The incident occurred shortly before 20:00 GMT on Tuesday. Following the initial impact, a second vehicle, driven by a member of the public, collided with the police vehicle from behind.

The police force confirmed that no injuries were sustained in the incident and that an investigation is ongoing.

On Wednesday, the area was closed off while both vehicles were recovered and the road was made safe for traffic.
