New Images Released of Items Purchased Illegally by Peter Murrell
Dozens of new photographs depicting items purchased by Peter Murrell with embezzled funds from the Scottish National Party (SNP) have been made public following his sentencing to over five years in prison.
The images, captured by Police Scotland throughout their extensive investigation, have been shared by prosecutors now that the case has concluded.
Among the photographs is the £124,550 motorhome parked outside the residence where Murrell's mother lived at the time. The collection also includes luxury bags, watches, and pens acquired through illicit means.
Many of these images were taken inside the home Murrell, aged 61, shared with his estranged wife, former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
Murrell embezzled £400,000 from the SNP over a 12-year span, using the stolen funds to purchase more than 1,000 items, including jewellery, cosmetics, and two vehicles.
Only a portion of the embezzled goods linked to the final charges admitted by the former SNP chief executive have been recovered.
Investigators photographed these items, and five images were initially released to the media by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) when Murrell admitted his offences last month.
A further 50 police photographs have now been published by the Crown Office.
The images were taken at multiple locations, including the former Glasgow home of Murrell and Sturgeon, where a high-profile police search of the property and garden occurred in 2023.
