Mother Seeks Review of Murder Conviction

Logan Mwangi was murdered in July 2021.

A mother convicted of murdering her five-year-old son has requested a review of her case by the authority responsible for investigating potential miscarriages of justice.

Angharad Williamson was sentenced to life imprisonment in June 2022 for the murder of her son, Logan Mwangi. She was convicted alongside his stepfather, John Cole, and a teenager, Craig Mulligan, who was 14 at the time.

Williamson is required to serve a minimum of 28 years in prison.

Recent Court Hearing and Inquest Date Set

On Wednesday, Williamson appeared via video link at a hearing held at Pontypridd Coroner's Court, where a date was set for Logan's inquest.

Tony Thompson, a former superintendent with the British Transport Police, addressed the court stating:

I am conducting a review of her conviction.

The inquest into Logan's death has been scheduled for November this year, more than six years after the murder occurred.
