Venues are permitted to stay open until 30 minutes after the conclusion of the games. Pubs are required to notify the licensing board in advance if they plan to extend their opening hours.

Public Holiday Decisions Across Councils

It has been determined that council staff in Aberdeenshire, Moray, Orkney, and Shetland will not receive an additional public holiday to commemorate Scotland's participation in the World Cup.

However, a special meeting of Aberdeen City Council's staff governance committee resolved that its staff should be granted the extra holiday.

Scotland's Return to the World Cup

Scotland's men's national team will be participating in their first World Cup since 1998, having qualified with a 4-2 victory over Denmark at Hampden Park.
