Investigation into Fatal Assault Outside Pub

Police are conducting an investigation into the death of Carl Holland, a 30-year-old man who was punched outside a pub in west Belfast last Friday.

Mr. Holland had been hospitalized in critical condition with a serious head injury since the incident and subsequently died in hospital.

The event occurred at approximately 21:00 BST on Suffolk Road, near Mr. Holland's place of residence.

Authorities reported that following a verbal altercation earlier that evening, a male suspect arrived by taxi and punched Mr. Holland before leaving the scene in another taxi.

Police Statement and Appeal

Detective Inspector Collins of the Police Service of Northern Ireland's (PSNI) Major Investigation Team issued a statement expressing condolences to Mr. Holland's family and friends.

"We can confirm that Carl Holland has sadly passed away, and our thoughts are, first and foremost, with his family and friends at this extremely difficult time."

DI Collins also urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and contact the police.
