Man Charged Following Incident in Derby
A 36-year-old man has been formally charged after a vehicle struck seven pedestrians in Derby city centre on Saturday evening.
Sandhu Ponnachan, who resides in Alvaston, Derby, faces multiple charges including six counts of grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent, one count of attempted GBH with intent, one count of dangerous driving, and one count of possession of a bladed article.

The incident occurred at approximately 21:30 GMT on Saturday on Friar Gate, where a black Suzuki Swift collided with seven pedestrians, causing serious injuries.
Legal Proceedings
Ponnachan, described by police as originally from India, is scheduled to appear before magistrates on Wednesday.
