Man Admits to Killing Chloe Mitchell, Barrister Informs Court

A man accused of murdering Chloe Mitchell, a woman from Ballymena, has admitted to killing her, according to his barrister in court.

Brandon John Rainey, formerly residing on James Street in Ballymena, was scheduled to stand trial on 9 March for the murder of Chloe Mitchell, which he had previously denied.

During an emergency hearing held at Belfast Crown Court on Friday, Rainey's barrister stated that the 29-year-old would now plead guilty to killing the 21-year-old, citing diminished responsibility as the reason.

Chloe Mitchell was killed in the County Antrim town in June 2023.
