Man, 50, Dies After Entering Water at Aberavon Beach Amid Record Heat

Emergency services responded to Aberavon beach in Neath Port Talbot on Wednesday afternoon following reports of a man requiring medical assistance in the water.

The incident occurred at approximately 16:25 BST during a period of record June temperatures in Wales.

Coastguard officers administered CPR at the scene until paramedics arrived. Despite their efforts, the 50-year-old man from Cilfrew was pronounced dead at the location.

South Wales Police confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious. They have also informed the deceased's next of kin.
