London Tube Strikes Confirmed Following Failed Negotiations

Two 24-hour strikes by London Underground drivers are set to proceed on Tuesday and Thursday after negotiations aimed at preventing the industrial action broke down.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union plan to walk out in a dispute concerning Transport for London's (TfL) proposal to introduce a voluntary four-day working week.

The two parties held last-ditch talks on Monday; however, the RMT union stated that TfL "failed to failed to provide assurances" regarding concerns about working hours and fatigue.

Previously, TfL indicated it intended to operate at least half of Tube services during the strikes. Nevertheless, the Circle and Piccadilly lines will be closed, and sections of the Metropolitan and Central lines will be suspended.
