Kaye Adams to Leave BBC Scotland Radio Programme
Radio presenter Kaye Adams will not be returning to her programme on BBC Scotland. The broadcaster was removed from hosting Mornings With on BBC Radio Scotland last year following an internal complaint regarding her conduct.
Adams, 63, who has been approached for comment, stated in October that her reputation had been unfairly damaged and that the BBC had not provided her with specific details of the allegations made against her.
"My name has been dragged through the mud," Adams said.
According to a report by The Times, some of the complaints against Adams were upheld, while others were dismissed. The BBC declined to comment on individual cases or internal procedures.
The corporation confirmed that the presenter lineup on BBC Radio Scotland would remain unchanged in the near term.
Connie McLaughlin will present Mornings With from Monday to Wednesday, with Stephen Jardine hosting on Thursdays and Fridays.
Career Background
Adams has nearly four decades of experience as a journalist and presenter. She joined BBC Scotland in 2010 to host Call Kaye, a daily phone-in programme that concluded in 2015. Subsequently, she hosted The Kaye Adams Show and Mornings With.
In addition to her radio work, Adams has been a regular panellist on the ITV talk show Loose Women.
Official Statements
A BBC Scotland spokesperson said:
"With regard to the presentation line up on Mornings With, Kaye Adams will not be returning to this role.
In the immediate future Connie McLaughlin will continue to present Mornings With on Mondays to Wednesdays, with Stephen Jardine presenting on Thursdays and Fridays."
Context of Workplace Culture
Last year, the BBC introduced its "Call it Out" initiative, designed to empower staff to challenge and report inappropriate behaviour in the workplace. This scheme was launched following an independent report into the corporation's workplace culture, which found that a small number of prominent figures and managers engaged in unacceptable behaviour and that leadership had failed to adequately address these issues.
