Six men posing as police officers were jailed for targeting vulnerable elderly victims, stealing £190,000 in cash and £15,000 in jewellery across Belfast, Antrim, and Down.

Gang Members Sentenced at Belfast Crown Court

Mark Millar, Ray Lee, and Elijah Lee have been sentenced at Belfast Crown Court for their involvement in a criminal gang that impersonated police officers to exploit elderly victims.

The gang members, aged between 31 and 61, were convicted after stealing approximately £190,000 in cash and £15,000 worth of jewellery from victims in the Belfast, Antrim, and Down areas.

Police Statement on the Gang's Activities

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) described the group as

"devious"
and stated that they manipulated
"vulnerable"
individuals by convincing them they were at risk of becoming victims of crime.

Charges and Sentences

All six men were sentenced for conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation, money laundering, and possession of criminal property. The sentences for each member are as follows:

  • Ray Lee, 33, Belfast: five years imprisonment.
  • Elijah Lee, 61, Belfast: 28 months imprisonment.
  • Mark Paul Millar, 52, no fixed abode: 20 months imprisonment.
  • John Joseph Delaney, 49, Belfast: six months imprisonment plus six months on licence.
  • William McGinley, 37, Irvinestown: six months imprisonment, suspended for two years.
  • Shea Reynolds, 31, Belfast: six months imprisonment.
