Teenagers Charged Following Assault on Rescue Volunteer and Dog

Four teenagers have been formally charged after an attack on a search and rescue volunteer and his trained dog.

The group includes three boys, aged 13 and 15 (two boys), and a 16-year-old girl. They face various charges, including assault.

Ryan Gray, affiliated with K9 Search & Rescue NI, was walking his dog Max in Bangor on Friday evening when both were assaulted.

Police reported receiving a call about an ongoing altercation involving several youths and a man on High Street at approximately 19:50 GMT.

Authorities expressed gratitude to those who responded to an appeal for information and assisted in the investigation.

"The investigation is ongoing and further arrests will be made when the other suspects are identified,"

the police added.

Paul Donley, secretary of K9 Search & Rescue NI, stated that Gray, who founded the charity, sustained serious facial injuries. Additionally, Max the dog will require veterinary care.
