Four Deny Murder Charges

Four individuals have entered pleas of not guilty to the murder of 17-year-old Tristan Kerr.

Ricardo Elliot, aged 27, Connor Palfrey, 24, Elexi Manny, 24, and Georgie Mears, 18, each appeared at Merthyr Crown Court to respond to the charge of murdering Tristan Kerr.

Emergency services were dispatched to a residence in Abertridwr, Caerphilly, at approximately 17:45 GMT on 5 February of this year after reports indicated a teenage boy had suffered a serious injury.

Kerr was reportedly killed with a zombie knife measuring nine to ten inches (23-25cm) in length and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Court Proceedings

The four defendants attended court on Friday for a plea and trial preparation hearing. During the hearing, they confirmed their names, dates of birth, addresses, and entered their pleas without further comment.

A trial date was previously scheduled for 3 August, with an estimated duration of six weeks, as set by Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke, the Recorder of Cardiff. Additionally, a pre-trial review hearing is planned for 24 July.

Palfrey, who resides in Abertridwr, along with Elliot, Manny, and Mears, all of whom currently have no fixed addresses, were remanded into custody following the hearing.

Family Tribute

Following Tristan Kerr's death, his family issued a tribute describing him as a "deeply loved son, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend."

"He had a spark about him that drew people in, and an energy that filled every room he entered,"

the tribute continued, highlighting his personality and interests.

"Quick-witted, with a passion for motorbikes and adventure,"

the family remembered him fondly.
