Four individuals have been hospitalized following an incident involving a bare-chested man carrying a large weapon who was seen roaming the streets of Edinburgh.

On Friday evening, footage captured a man, believed to be the same individual, striking the locked door of a pizzeria located on Leith Walk while members of the public fled the area.

Police Response and Arrest

Authorities confirmed the arrest of a 36-year-old man in connection with the events and stated that there is no ongoing risk to the public. Details regarding the conditions of the four injured individuals have not been disclosed.

The BBC has learned that two of the injured had recently left Blackhall mosque on House O'Hill Road in the western part of Edinburgh.

Video footage obtained at the Shell petrol station on Telford Road shows a taxi with smashed windows and police presence at the scene.

Multiple videos circulating on social media appear to depict the same bare-chested man causing disturbances at various locations.

At the BP petrol station on Ferry Road, CCTV footage shows a man standing beside a black vehicle with a broken windscreen. He then enters the petrol station kiosk, walks around several times, and proceeds to push over multiple shelves, scattering items across the floor.

Another video shows members of the public running away as the man approaches the Origano pizzeria on Leith Walk. Staff inside secured the premises by closing electronic shutters while the man repeatedly struck the door panes with his weapon before leaving the scene.

The man was also seen approaching a car stopped at a nearby junction while topless and armed.

Emergency Services and Police Actions

Additional footage depicts a significant police presence and a cordon around the Your Move estate agent, where paramedics are attending to a clothed man on the ground with his arm in a sling.
