Family Tribute to Teenager Who Died in Fife Crash
The family of 17-year-old Kerr Paterson, who died in a collision in Fife on Sunday, have expressed their sorrow and described him as having a "bright future ahead of him".
Kerr Paterson, from Saline, was driving a blue Toyota Aygo involved in a crash with a yellow Volkswagen Golf on the B914 near Kelty.
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, and police investigations are ongoing.
Authorities have appealed for witnesses who were not involved in the crash, which occurred near the junction with the A823 at approximately 02:25.
Family Statement on Kerr Paterson
In a statement, Kerr's family conveyed their devastation at his passing, describing him as a "wonderful, hard-working young man with a bright future ahead of him".
"He meant the world to us, his parents, his two brothers and sister, and to his many family and friends, and we are struggling to come to terms with this tragic loss,"
They noted Kerr's "deep passion" for stock car racing.
"He truly loved it, and it brought him great happiness,"
"He was proud of what he achieved in the sport, and those memories will stay with us forever."
The family expressed gratitude towards the police officers who have supported them during this difficult time.
"Their kindness, compassion, and professionalism have been a great comfort, and we are deeply grateful for everything they have done,"
They also acknowledged the outpouring of support they have received.
"We have been overwhelmed by the messages of love, support, and condolences we have received, and we thank everyone for their kindness."
The family respectfully requested privacy as they grieve and support each other.
"As a family, we respectfully ask that our privacy is respected as we grieve, support one another, and remember Kerr."
Police Appeal for Information
Sgt Lee Walkingshaw urged anyone with information to come forward.
"We are continuing to appeal for information and asking anyone who can assist and who has not yet spoken to officers to get in touch.
