Tribute to Biker After Fatal Crash in Fife
A family has paid tribute to Scott Brough, a 47-year-old biker who died in a collision on the A911 near Markinch, Fife.
Police responded to the crash at approximately 13:00 on Friday, at the junction with the B9130. Scott Brough was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family Statement
Scott's family expressed their profound grief over the loss, describing themselves as "absolutely heartbroken" and struggling to come to terms with the "devastating tragedy."
They issued a statement through Police Scotland, emphasizing Scott's passion for motorcycling and the impact he had on their lives.
"Scott loved riding his motorbike," they said. "It was something he was truly passionate about and brought him so much happiness."
"We would like to express our sincere thanks to the police officers who have supported us through this incredibly difficult time.
"Their kindness, compassion and professionalism have been a great source of comfort, and we are deeply grateful for everything they have done."
The family also acknowledged the numerous messages of support and condolences they have received, describing the response as overwhelming.
"As a family, we have always been very private people and would like to remain that way.
"We respectfully ask that our privacy is respected as we grieve, support one another, and remember Scott."
Police Appeal for Information
Police Scotland renewed their appeal for information regarding the crash, which involved a white Mercedes Citan van and a BMW S1000 motorbike.
Sgt Chris Anderson, from Police Scotland's road policing unit, commented on the ongoing investigation and the impact on those close to Scott.
"Our thoughts remain with Scott's family and friends during this upsetting time.
"Our inquiries are ongoing and we would appeal to anyone with any information to come forward."
