Government Provides Financial Support for School Essentials

Families can receive up to £150 to assist with each child's back-to-school expenses through a government bonus, announced by the Minister for Social Security.

This financial support is intended to help cover costs for uniforms, shoes, stationery, and other necessary items for children from reception through Year 11.

Eligible households will be granted £100 for each primary school child and £150 for each secondary school child as a lump sum payment during the summer holiday.

The means-tested bonus will be available to families with a combined income of up to £75,000 in 2025. Automatic payments will be made to households currently receiving Income Support.
