Former BBC Wales Producer Found Guilty
Dylan Dawes, 50, a former BBC Wales producer, has been found guilty of possessing or making indecent images of children. Cardiff Crown Court heard that Dawes had thousands of such images, including 192 classified as category A, the most serious level.

During the four-day trial, it was revealed that over 6,200 indecent images were recovered from four devices owned by Dawes. He was found guilty on all six counts brought against him. Evidence showed that Dawes had been downloading indecent images of children for approximately 16 years.
An expert recovered 5,794 images from Dawes' hard drive, which contained the most serious images of children. Additionally, 483 images were found on four other devices, including seven category A images.
Investigators discovered that Dawes had searched the term "jailbait" on Google. All the indecent images were saved in a file named "Dylan Account" on his computer. Furthermore, his Gmail account was suspended nearly a month before his arrest on 28 February 2022.

Dawes claimed that he had allowed BBC colleagues to use his devices and hard drive for work purposes and suggested that someone else must have downloaded the images.
