A commercial industrial fire has led to the closure of a city centre road in Swansea, generating large clouds of black smoke.

South Wales Police reported that the incident occurred on Dyfatty Street on Saturday afternoon. The smoke has been notably impacting the nearby Matthew Street flats.

The police confirmed that the road closure extends from Dyfatty Street to Orchard Street and Newhall Road due to the significant amount of smoke present.

"Please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible," a South Wales Police spokesperson advised.
