A Roman Catholic priest has been sentenced to 19 months in prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a man at his church residence.

Father Stephen Baillie, who served as the parish priest at St Joseph's Church in Clarkston, East Renfrewshire, committed the assault following a night out with the victim.

Baillie, with 36 years of experience as a priest, denied the charge but was convicted by a jury at Paisley Sheriff Court last month.
