Carolyn Stewart Ends 21-Year Tenure at U105

Carolyn Stewart, a prominent radio presenter and DJ, has departed from U105 after a 21-year career with the station.

In a social media statement released on Sunday, Stewart addressed her audience regarding her exit.

"I regret to inform listeners that I am no longer a presenter at U105.
As my departure is now subject to legal proceedings I cannot give you any more details but I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your loyal and enthusiastic support over the past 21 years."

The announcement prompted responses from listeners who expressed that her departure represented a significant loss for U105. Some described feeling "gutted" and "heartbroken" at the news.

Previous Role and Recent Presenter Changes at U105

Prior to leaving, Carolyn Stewart was the host of the Lunchtime Bistro programme on U105.

Her departure follows a series of presenter changes at the station. Earlier in May, U105 confirmed that five presenters would be leaving.

The station issued a statement regarding these changes:

"We wanted to update listeners that Denise Watson, David Johnson, Linda Cullen, Rick Nugent and Stephen Woods are leaving the U105 schedule, as we have been unable to reach mutually agreeable terms for new contracts.
We would like to thank Denise, David, Linda, Rick and Stephen for their significant contribution to U105. We know they will be missed by many listeners. We wish them all the very best for the future."

Carolyn Stewart’s Career Background

Carolyn Stewart began her radio career in 1990 as one of the original DJs at the newly launched Cool FM. She remained with Cool FM until 2005, when she transitioned to her role at U105.
