Incident Overview
One individual has sustained life-threatening injuries following a collision involving a car and multiple pedestrians in a town centre.
A red Vauxhall Astra struck several people in Arnold at approximately 01:10 BST, according to Nottinghamshire Police.
Driver and Police Statement
The driver, believed to be a white male, abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. Authorities have stated that there is
"no indication at this stage of any ongoing threat to the wider public".
Area and Road Closures
The vicinity has been cordoned off, with several road closures implemented in the town centre as investigations proceed. Market Place and the junctions from Gedling Road to Derby Street, Hallams Lane, and Central Avenue are currently closed.
Police have indicated that these closures are expected to remain in place
"for some time"and have advised the public to avoid the area.
