Sea Wall Repairs Begin at Aberdeen Beach
A section of the promenade at Aberdeen beach will be closed for over a month as sea wall repairs commence, with an estimated cost of approximately £246,000.
The repair work focuses on the reinforced concrete structural components of the sea wall near the southern end of the Queen's Links Leisure Park.

During the repair period, around 58 meters (190 feet) of the lower esplanade will be inaccessible to the public.
Closure Duration and Access Information
Aberdeen City Council has indicated that the repairs are expected to take about five weeks to complete. There is a possibility that similar repair work may be undertaken at other sections of the beach in the future.
Signage will be installed at the nearest steps and ramps leading to the upper esplanade to inform visitors of the closure.
Work Schedule and Noise Considerations
The council stated that some of the repair activities are anticipated to occur outside of normal working hours to facilitate access between tides.
"It is expected that some of the works required will be progressed outwith normal working hours to allow access between tides,"
"While some noise is expected, the contractor will aim to minimise any disruption and disturbance as far as reasonably possible.
We apologise for any inconvenience."
Details on Repair Scope and Future Plans
A spokesperson for Aberdeen City Council told BBC Scotland News that the repairs address a localized area of the seawall that has experienced ongoing deterioration, worsened by storms in recent years.
The scope of work includes repairs to the reinforced concrete elements and the replacement of the concrete blocks forming the top surface of the sea wall.

The spokesperson added,
"The work will include repairs to the reinforced concrete elements as well as replacement of the concrete blocks forming the top surface,"
"Similar works may be progressed in other sections of the seawall in this area in the future."
