Record Cannabis Seizure in South Wales
Three individuals from south Wales have been arrested following a record-breaking seizure of cannabis valued at £139 million.
Authorities recovered 12 tonnes of cannabis from containers on 6 May, which were in transit to a port located on the south coast of England.
The cannabis, imported from Canada to the United Kingdom, carried an estimated street value of £139 million.

Details of the Arrests
The arrested parties include two men and one woman, aged between their 30s and 40s, originating from Merthyr Tydfil, Ebbw Vale, and Abertillery in Blaenau Gwent. The arrests took place on the morning of Tuesday, 16 June.
Investigation and Interception
The investigation commenced after the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) intercepted a shipment of cannabis intended for the UK market.
Following this, investigators identified two containers carrying 12 tonnes of cannabis stored in 1,200 boxes, which were en route to Southampton Port.
Police Action
The South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU) executed search warrants at the residences of the three suspects in south Wales on 16 June.
All three individuals were arrested on suspicion of facilitating the importation of cannabis and remain in police custody.
