Trump Delays Military Action on Iran
US President Donald Trump announced he is postponing a military strike on Iran that was scheduled for Tuesday. This decision came at the request of Gulf state leaders, as "serious negotiations are now taking place."
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump stated that the leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates had asked him to hold off on the attack.
"I was asked by the leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to hold off on the attack," Trump wrote.
He further indicated that he had been informed a deal would be reached that is "very acceptable" to the United States, emphasizing the goal of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
"I have been informed that a deal will be made that is very acceptable to the U.S. There will be NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS FOR IRAN!"
Despite the delay, Trump cautioned that the US military remains prepared to launch a "full, large scale assault of Iran, on a moment's notice" should negotiations fail to produce an acceptable agreement.
"But if there is no deal, the United States military will be ready to go forward with a full, large scale assault of Iran, on a moment's notice," he warned.
As of now, Iran has not issued any public response to President Trump's statement.
