Fatal Missile Debris Strike in West Bank

At least three Palestinian women have died and eight others were injured after missile debris struck a beauty salon in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS).

The PRCS reported that shrapnel hit the salon located in the town of Beit Awwa, near Hebron in the southern West Bank.

The official Palestinian news agency Wafa stated that fragments reportedly landed on a metal caravan used as a salon, as well as several other locations across the West Bank.

Additional Casualty in Israel

Separately, a Thai worker was killed by shrapnel that struck a farming community in Israel, Israeli medical personnel confirmed.

These incidents occurred on Wednesday night shortly after the Israeli military announced it was "working to intercept" an Iranian missile attack.

Victims Identified

Wafa identified the three women killed in the salon as Mais Ghazi Masalmeh, 17; Sahira Rizq Masalmeh, 50; and Amal Sobhi Abdel Karim Matawa' Masalmeh, 36.

The PRCS stated that response teams, including at least five ambulances, rushed to the scene and found "several casualties and injuries."

The bodies of the three women were transported to a local hospital along with other victims who sustained "critical and moderate" wounds.

The PRCS initially reported four women killed in the incident but later revised the death toll to three.

Challenges in Emergency Response

The PRCS added that crews faced "significant difficulties" reaching the site due to the closure of iron gates leading to the area, which "had a direct and critical impact on the time available to save the injured victims."

Details on the Israeli Casualty

In Israel, the Thai worker was killed in Moshav Adanim, approximately 12 miles (20 km) northeast of Tel Aviv. Israel's Magen David Adom emergency service reported that "metal shrapnel was scattered across the scene," where the man was found dead.

The worker was not immediately identified.

The BBC has contacted the Israeli military for comment.
