Helicopter Crash in Ras Tanura

Fourteen individuals lost their lives when a helicopter crashed in Saudi Arabia, according to state media reports on Sunday.

The helicopter, operated by the state oil company Aramco, went down in the eastern coastal city of Ras Tanura at 06:00 local time (03:00 GMT), resulting in the deaths of all passengers on board, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

All 14 victims were Saudi nationals. Investigations are currently ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.

Aramco has not issued an immediate statement regarding the incident.

The Saudi energy ministry expressed its condolences to the families of the victims.

Significance of Ras Tanura

Ras Tanura hosts one of the largest oil refineries in the Middle East, operated by Aramco.

The news agency noted that Aramco resumed crude oil loading operations at the Ras Tanura site on Friday, following an almost four-month suspension due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
