Russian Air Raids Target Major Ukrainian Cities
Russian air raids struck key Ukrainian cities including Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv, resulting in at least five fatalities and injuring dozens by early Tuesday morning, according to local authorities.
In Dnipro, located in eastern Ukraine, regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha reported that four people were killed and 16 others injured during the Russian attack. All injured individuals were transported to hospitals for treatment. The governor shared images depicting significant damage to residential buildings, burnt vehicles, and a destroyed children’s playground.

In Kyiv, the capital, at least one person died and 29 others sustained injuries across the city, stated Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv military administration.
A suspected missile strike caused the collapse of a 24-storey apartment building, with reports indicating that people may be trapped beneath the rubble, according to Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Kyiv. Additional buildings, including a nine-storey apartment block, caught fire as a result of the attacks.
“In the Obolon district, cars are burning after being struck by falling missile debris. There are also fires at two locations in open areas, including one near a kindergarten,”Klitschko said. Thousands of Kyiv residents sought refuge underground in metro stations and other shelters following air raid warnings that extended across much of Ukraine early Tuesday.
Presidential Warnings and Preparedness
On Monday, Ukraine’s president reiterated warnings about a potential wave of Russian strikes and urged citizens to remain vigilant regarding air raid alerts. In his nightly video address, he stated:
“Intelligence warnings regarding Russian strikes remain in effect. A massive strike is possible, they have prepared one.”
“Our defenders are ready 24/7 to the fullest extent possible with the supplies currently available.”
Impact in Kharkiv and Regional Developments
In the northeastern Kharkiv region, drone and missile attacks injured 10 people, including a child, according to Ihor Terekhov, the city’s mayor.
Last week, Russia announced plans to conduct “systematic strikes” on Kyiv targets associated with the Ukrainian military and decision-making centers, advising foreign nationals to leave the area. This announcement followed a drone strike on a dormitory in the Russian-held Luhansk region of Ukraine, which resulted in 21 deaths. Ukraine denied responsibility for that attack.
