Cannabis with an estimated street value of €7 million (£6.1 million) has been confiscated in the Republic of Ireland.

Gardai conducted a series of planned searches at a property located in Athy, County Kildare, on Wednesday.

Arrests Made

Four individuals were arrested at the scene: two men in their 30s, one man in his 40s, and a woman in her 20s.

Investigation Details

In an official statement, Gardai indicated that the search was part of ongoing investigations under Operation Tara.

The seized drugs are to be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for further analysis.

A senior investigating officer has been appointed to the case, and an incident room has been established at Carlow Garda Station.
