Fugitive Shot Dead by Police in Victoria
Australian fugitive Dezi Freeman has been shot dead by police after evading capture for seven months, according to local media reports.
In August, Freeman, aged 56, allegedly shot and killed two police officers on his property in the small Victorian town of Porepunkah. Following the incident, he fled into dense bushland, successfully avoiding extensive search operations.
Police Confirm Fatal Shooting
Victorian police announced on Monday that a man was fatally shot at a property in north-east Victoria shortly after 08:30 local time. This action was part of ongoing efforts to locate Freeman.
Authorities confirmed that no police officers were injured during the shooting. The state coroner is scheduled to attend the scene to oversee the investigation.
