Woman reveals pain of living with endometriosis

Ami Clarke, 28, from Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, began experiencing symptoms of endometriosis at the age of 13 but was not diagnosed until ten years later.

A recent report from Endometriosis UK highlighted that the average wait time for an endometriosis diagnosis is now nine years and four months.

The report also found that 39% of respondents had to visit their doctor ten or more times before endometriosis was suspected, and 46% of those who attended hospital were discharged without receiving treatment.

"People have horrendous periods and think they just have to live with it, but I'm here to say you don't," Clarke said.
