A patient who was suspected of having the Ebola virus at a Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) in Glasgow has tested negative, sources have informed .

Precautionary measures were implemented following the admission of the patient in the early hours of Tuesday.

If the diagnosis had been confirmed, it would have marked the first case in the United Kingdom since the recent outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda in May.
