Former Ipswich Town and Scotland forward Alan Brazil has revealed that a recent operation saved his life.

In a message posted on X, the 66-year-old broadcaster expressed his gratitude to the medical professionals who treated him.

Brazil, who has been absent from his TalkSPORT breakfast show since March, shared his appreciation for the care he received.

During his football career, Brazil made over 150 league appearances for Ipswich Town. He later played for Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United before concluding his playing days at non-league Wivenhoe Town, located near Colchester in Essex.

In his post, Brazil wrote:
