Red Carpet Fashion Highlights

All the top Hollywood stylists agree that the key to mastering red carpet style is to wear something comfortable. Paddington Bear has embraced this advice wholeheartedly. The spectacled bear from Peru remains true to his iconic blue wool duffel coat and red felt hat. Recently, duffel coats have appeared on the runways of designers such as Coach and Simone Rocha, as well as on Oasis star Liam Gallagher, making Paddington’s look very fashionable. He has not neglected glamour either; his claws appear particularly shiny, possibly the result of a pre-carpet pawdicure.

Hello everyone, Chloe from the fashion desk here. Over the next two hours, I will be covering the impressive, the outstanding, and the unusual looks on the red carpet. The first arrival is this year’s host, Alan Cumming. The presenter and host of The Traitors US is known for his flamboyant style and he does not disappoint. While he will likely change for his presenting duties, for his arrival he has chosen a gradient-coloured coat adorned with tassels. Swishing along the red carpet, Cumming commands attention. Stay tuned for a closer look at his hair.

Next is Chase Infiniti, nominated for Best Leading Actress for her role in One Battle After Another. The American actress has selected a strapless burgundy fluted gown which, thanks to the carpet’s similar colour, creates the illusion that she is hovering above the ground. To Infiniti and beyond!

As mentioned, Cumming favors flamboyance, and nothing is more theatrical than swirls of neon feathers glued to one’s scalp. It is the fun start we all needed.

Welcome to the 2026 Bafta Film Awards Live Blog

Welcome to ’s live blog of the 2026 Bafta Film Awards. This is the ideal place to celebrate the best cinema of the past year. It is also the place to see images of celebrities braving the typically gloomy weather, though that may be less important.

As always, a brief explanation of the Baftas is necessary. At this moment, the red carpet is bustling at London’s Royal Festival Hall. The ceremony will begin in two hours and is expected to last between two and a half to three hours. However, television viewers should note that the BBC’s broadcast of the ceremony will not start until 7pm. Clear?

Here is the plan for the next few hours. Shortly, Chloe MacDonnell will present the best looks from the red carpet. Then the ceremony will commence, during which we will all pretend not to know the winners. At 7pm, I will cover the two-hour BBC broadcast. After that, the celebrations will continue until exhaustion sets in.

Now that the housekeeping is complete, there is much to anticipate tonight. More than in most years, the Baftas appear to be a reliable indicator for the upcoming awards season. One Battle After Another leads with 14 nominations, followed closely by Sinners with 13, and both Hamnet and Marty Supreme with 11 each. It may also be the night that The Ballad of Wallis Island finally receives the recognition it deserves, which would be very exciting.

But all of this is yet to come. For now, relax and enjoy the evening. It promises to be a long night.
