Father-Daughter Duo Captures Hearts with Outdoor Adventures

A father and daughter have touched the hearts of millions by sharing their biking excursions together. Gareth Williams, 33, explained how his toddler daughter Indie enjoyed "scooting around the house" on her small bike, which inspired him to purchase a child's seat and handlebar attachment for his own bike.

Videos documenting their journeys through the mountains near their home in Blaenau Gwent have gone viral, accumulating over three million views in total.

Gareth, an adrenaline enthusiast, had not anticipated sharing his passion for mountain biking with Indie so early, but her enthusiasm for their outings has led to their Instagram account, 'daddydaughterrides,' gaining more than 10,000 followers within a week.

"For me, it's the best thing when she comes and asks, 'can we go and ride the bike?'...it is amazing," he said.
"She loves seeing all the animals... she's just got a real interest in the outdoors."

Gareth works as a drainage technician and had not initially planned to post videos on social media. However, during a 20-minute ride around their local woodland and mountain, he captured footage out of excitement.

After sharing the videos with friends and family, who were charmed by Indie's interactions with animals and nature, he decided to share them more broadly.

"We sent it to friends and family and everyone had the same reaction, so we just decided to post her online," he said.
"She just loved it instantly and she doesn't want to get off it since."

In many of the videos, Indie can be heard asking to "see the cows" during their rides.

Gareth recounted an occasion when the cows came down from the mountain into their garden.

"The cows came down off the mountain one day, they were the big highland cattle, with the massive horns, and they actually came in our garden."

Indie found the encounter "hilarious" and has since been convinced the cows will return.

Discussing the clips he shares online featuring his nearly two-year-old daughter, Gareth said:

"Believe it or not, she's really shy.
I think it's the fact that it's only because it's me and her out, she just she doesn't think about it and she doesn't really notice the camera and she's just being herself, which is lovely to see."

Gareth described the viral success of the videos as "mental," expressing surprise at their widespread popularity.

"I can't believe that it just went as big as it did."

He considers the family fortunate to live in an area where they can reach the mountain within five minutes of leaving their home, especially since Indie enjoys being outdoors and spending time in the garden, even in rainy weather.

Gareth appreciates the positive response the videos have received online.

Viewers have commented that the videos make them "smile so much" and encouraged them to "keep them coming."

One viewer remarked, "One of the best things I've seen today! Properly uplifting!"

One aspect that has particularly melted viewers' hearts, to Gareth's surprise, is Indie's "little Welsh accent."

"Loads of people love that, they think it's brilliant, but again that was something that we don't notice," he laughed.
"Obviously we're Welsh ourselves, but we see her all the time and I don't even notice if she's got an accent.
Then everyone's picking up on it and I'm thinking, 'it must be really strong'."
