The typical yearly cost for home electricity for SSE Airtricity customers is projected to reach £1,277.07.

Reasons for the Price Rise

The company attributed the price hike to "sustained market volatility" and increased wholesale costs.

Stephen Gallagher, managing director of SSE Airtricity, emphasized the difficulty of the decision.

"This is a result of sustained higher wholesale market costs that are outside of our control," he said.
"We continue to do everything we can for our customers to limit the impact of ongoing volatility in the energy market."
