John Lewis to Award Staff Bonus After Four Years
John Lewis will grant its employees an additional week's pay as it reinstates its bonus for the first time since 2022.
The partnership, which runs the John Lewis department store chain and Waitrose supermarkets, reported growth in underlying profits during its most recent financial year.
The 2% bonus marks the first payment to its "partners" in four years, following its suspension during the Covid pandemic amid a significant turnaround involving store closures and job reductions.
Financial Outlook and Caution
Looking forward, John Lewis stated it remains "cautious" about the current year but emphasized it is in a stronger financial position to manage the challenging macroeconomic environment.
