Daniel Levy Sells Stake in Enic

Former Tottenham Hotspur executive chairman Daniel Levy has reportedly sold a 24.99% stake in Enic, the parent company of Tottenham Hotspur, to sports investment group Eight Sports Capital. This transaction would reduce Levy's holding in Enic to 4.89%.

However, Enic has stated that neither the company nor Tottenham Hotspur are aware of any such sale by Levy.

Levy, aged 64, stepped down from his role as executive chairman in September 2025 after serving in the position for 24 years. His departure followed a restructuring initiated by the club's ultimate owners, the Lewis Family Trust.

About Eight Sports Capital

Eight Sports Capital Ltd is a sports investment firm owned by Triller, an American entertainment and technology company controlled by Wing-Fai Ng and Richard Tsai. The chief executive of Eight Sports Capital is Brooklyn Earick, an American technology entrepreneur who led a consortium that expressed interest in purchasing Tottenham Hotspur last September.

At that time, Tottenham unequivocally rejected the informal expression of interest from Earick's group.

Details regarding the price paid by Eight Sports Capital for the stake have not been disclosed. However, on 26 September, reported that Tottenham Hotspur was valued at just under the £4.25 billion paid by Clearlake Capital for Chelsea in 2022. This valuation would place a near 25% stake at close to £1 billion.

"We are delighted to have signed this agreement to acquire a significant stake in Enic. We look forward to working with the club's shareholders, management, staff, players and fans to support Tottenham Hotspur's continued growth and success," said a spokesperson for Eight Sports Capital.
An Enic spokesperson said: "We can confirm that neither Enic nor THFC (Tottenham Hotspur Football Club) are aware of any sale by Daniel Levy's Family Trust of its minority stake in Enic, THFC's parent company.
"The THFC board and executive team remain fully focused on delivering the commitments we set out to fans at the end of the season."

Brooklyn Earick's Background

Brooklyn Earick is described as an engineer, founder, and serial technology entrepreneur who has raised over $25 billion (£18.65 billion) from family offices, sovereign wealth funds, and leading institutions worldwide. He is also a lifelong Tottenham Hotspur fan.

Before his entrepreneurial career, Earick worked as an engineer at NASA Ames Research Center, contributing to small spacecraft and satellite technology.

Levy's Legacy at Tottenham Hotspur

Until his sudden departure, Daniel Levy had been the public face of Tottenham Hotspur for nearly 25 years. He was credited with spearheading the development of Tottenham's state-of-the-art training ground and the construction of the 62,850-capacity stadium, which is the second-largest club stadium in England after Old Trafford. The stadium, opened in 2019, also hosts annual NFL games on an artificial surface that is maintained beneath the grass pitch.

Despite these achievements, Levy faced significant criticism from Tottenham fans due to the club's limited success on the field during his tenure. Tottenham won only two trophies under his leadership: the 2008 EFL Cup and the Europa League in the previous season.
