Apple Initiates Legal Action Against OpenAI and Former Staff
Apple CEO Tim Cook is set to leave his position later this year.
Apple has formally accused OpenAI of obtaining valuable internal information through the recruitment of its former employees.
In a federal lawsuit filed on Friday, Apple sued the artificial intelligence (AI) company, two of its employees, and io Products, alleging a "pattern of theft" involving Apple's confidential product development and associated work.
According to the lawsuit, at least two long-standing Apple employees who departed to join OpenAI participated in this alleged pattern by, among other actions, emailing themselves internal Apple information.
Drew Pusateri, a spokesman for OpenAI, responded to the allegations, stating:
"We have no interest in other companies' trade secrets."
